About Me

Hello you! Welcome to Earth to Heart! I guess you came here to find out a little bit more about the girl behind the blog, so here I am!

Let’s get to the basics first, shall we? My name is Courtenay and I’m 20 years old. I live on the south coast of NSW, Australia, which means I grew up on the beach. I absolutely adore the ocean and anything to do with it. I love to write, cook, play soccer, read, surf, swim, write (did I mention that already?), explore, laugh and live life to the full! Jesus is the most important person in myย life. Heck, he IS life.

I started this blog as a means of expressing myself at a time in my life when I was struggling a lot with body-image, food, health related issues and such like. I still struggle with these problems today, as most of us do, but I am not consumed by them to the extent that I once was. Today, Earth to Heart is a blog about everything and anything I feel worthy of mentioning, whether it be travel, food, music, arts, discoveries, rants and everything else that comes in between! I hope you’ll enjoy what I have to say, but even if you don’t, I’ll still be writing. Adios amigos and thanks for reading! Much love, Courtenay โ™ฅ

  1. I love this! I fell into the hole too! I’m hearing people say they were healthiest before they learned about healthy living! Haha funny but true! I’ve become a life freak instead of a health freak and it’s the best decision I ever made. Mental health is so important and I want to be able to go out with my friends and have a good time or eat a dang piece of cake on someone’s birthday! I refuse to look back on my life and think “well I ate as pure as I could and was super disciplined” and have nothing to it but that. How sad would that be? Good for you for realizing measuring food and being naratic about it is actually much more unhealthy! Best wishes xxx

  2. It’s been lovely to read through your wordpress. I’ve been following you on Instagram for quite a while and I believe you’ve developed a beautiful voice and style through your postings on Instagram, which has been transferred wonderfully to wordpress. I really enjoy the recipes you share – we have really similar tastes!! I like your ‘basic and accessible’ ingredients approach, it’s very helpful. Anyway, just wanted to drop you a line and say a quick sun shining hello and please please keep posting because we’re all listening!! xx

    1. Aw wow thanks so much! What a beautiful comment!! I’m so flattered ๐Ÿ™‚ your blog is great! I’m hoping to get on here more often and will definitely have to read all your awesome posts! Thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ x

  3. I have been trying to think of something to write for the past 10 minutes, but the only thing sufficient enough to say to you is thank you. Thank you so much for your wisdom and your encouraging words. I found your instagram and blog via a friend, and I can honestly say it is beyond refreshing to have finally found someone who fights an eating disorder with Jesus Christ on their side. I am a christian who struggles a lot with eating and the body image idol. Like you know, it is a sin that invades and tries to control my mind every single minute. I am so thankful for your blog because it sums up all my thoughts and is very relatable to my current situation. You are truly someone who is making a difference in my life, even if it is just through your blog posts! So I just wanted to tell you thank you. God is really using you to encourage me and I know others as well!

    1. Hello Abbie!
      Thank you so much for your comment! It brought a massive smile to my face! I’m so humbled and taken aback by your loveliness!
      I’m so sorry to hear that you struggle with body image, even from hearing your words right now I can tell that you are someone who is worth knowing and loving regardless of what you look like. I’ve been really encouraged to go to Psalm 139 for comfort lately:
      ” For you created my inmost being;
      you knit me together in my motherโ€™s womb.
      I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
      your works are wonderful,
      I know that full well.
      My frame was not hidden from you
      when I was made in the secret place,
      when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
      Your eyes saw my unformed body;
      all the days ordained for me were written in your book
      before one of them came to be.
      How amazing are your thoughts concerning me, God!
      How vast is the sum of them!
      Were I to count them,
      they would outnumber the grains of sandโ€”
      when I awake, I am still with you. ”
      This was written for you Abbie! You are beautiful, so beautiful in fact that you bring joy to the King of the Universe. That’s pretty special.
      Much love, Courtenay xx ps if you ever want to talk properly I’d be happy to ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Courtenay,
    Good on you for writing here, and for some of those very courageous posts that you have put out there! I am so glad to see you clinging to the Lord God in so many different ways!
    See you Sunday!
    Steve C.
